Born and raised in southwest Louisiana, I am a country boy at heart. I grew up on a sugarcane livestock farm in Glencoe, Louisiana. I am the younger of two boys separated by ten years. On the farm we raised a variety of chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, turkeys, swans, peacocks, pigeons, parakeets, cockatiels, love birds, canaries, cats, dogs, pigs, African pygmy goats, and Miniature Zebu cows. Other than my duties working in the fields or tending to the animals, I enjoyed a number of other activities like playing basketball, hunting, fishing, go carting, video games, reading, and playing the piano.
While still at home, I was an active member in the National Pygmy Goat Association where I attended and showed many animals for my family’s herd, Sugarlandfarm Pygmy Goats.
After a somewhat uninteresting high school career where I developed my writing skills, I went on to study Computer Science at Xavier University of Louisiana and Japanese at Loyola University. During my four years at Xavier, I interned three consecutive summers with Microsoft in the Office product group. In my spare time during my junior and senior years, I also worked as a Microsoft Research student consultant responsible for both showcasing and educating my peers in new Microsoft technologies.
Upon graduating from Xavier, I was employed as a Software Development Engineer in Test at Microsoft. I have currently been working full time on main their main campus in Redmond, WA. since July of 2003 in the Office product group. My responsibilities range from various feature ownership, test automation process, tools, and script development, to code analysis and providing technical training to the rest of my team. One of the major projects that I've worked on is Microsoft Office Online.
Outside of Microsoft I am working on a number of small side projects with the sole purpose of increasing my skill set, largely around .NET technologies. While I am currently proficient in C#, I have experience programming in the C based languages, Lisp, and IBM assembly.
A while back I filled out a profile on one of those dating sites for fun. Just to see ya know... Anyway the "Dating Profile" it helped me generate was pretty accurate so I decided to post it. If you are interested in reading it click here.
Hmmm, let’s see… I guess all that’s left is to wrap up with the typical stuff you see in a profile page. I listed my hobbies above. I love to eat any type of food (especially ones that contain meat) and go to the movies often. I listen to basically any type of music (generally louder than it ought to be played) though I still like it quiet from time to time. I love cats. I’m good with kids. I do party tricks… etc. I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you are that interested then shoot me an email or add my to your buddy list (MSN). The link can be found at the top of the page.
Have a nice day!
